Application Halted:

Associate members desire and intend to become genuinely independent financial advisers, and are capable of becoming genuinely independent.

Applications will only be considered from individuals who possess these qualities.

Note that an applicant who is authorised by an AFSL that does not meet the requirements of Genuine Independence still has the capability to become independent by, for instance, changing their AFSL arrangements. It is not a requirement to make those changes in order to become an Associate member because licensing options are explored as part of the online training program.

An example of whether a member is of good fame, integrity and character, is that a member’s conduct does not result in a pattern of disciplinary interventions and/or sanctions by an AFSL, regulator, Professional Association, legal or other relevant institution.
